Everyone's Got It Figured Out Except You

The Lie Everyone's Telling Online

Quick Update

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

As we get closer to the end of 2023 I want to make two quick announcements.

First, I’ve got room for 2 new coaching clients.

You’d be a good fit if:

  1. You’re looking to set a big goal

  2. Need help planning your route.

  3. Struggle with handling obstacles.

  4. Get distracted by non-essential tasks.

  5. Need a sounding board as you progress

If any of this sounds like you, let’s hop on a call and see if I can help.

Second, Edge of Greatness is going television in 2024.

We’ve recently been added to the NGBN TV network to help launch the channel in 2024.

Head on over to NGBN and check out the stable of shows and to get updates.

  • Everyone has it figured out.

They’re winning every day.

They're all making $10,000/month or more.

They have incredible systems in place.

They're scaling and multiplying every day.

They have a big house, awesome car, beautiful spouse, no worries in the world.

They all have 6 pack abs.

They wake up with abundant amounts of energy.

Life is so easy and you can only dream of being like them.

It's all a lie.

Most everyone is just trying to figure it out same as you.

They're just doing it with more confidence.

Sure there are people winning online.

Sure there are people who have figured out all kinds of ways to succeed.

But remember only roughly 20% of American households earn $120,000/year.

That's combining both incomes.

That's the far right of the bell curve.

Is it possible that everyone on social media is in the top 20%?

No, it's not.

And for those claiming to have built to $1,000,000 in revenue, that puts them in the .6-.7% of American household range.

I see a lot of people claiming that kind of income.

I’m sure some are there and telling the truth, but let’s be real here.

In many cases you've probably got it figured out more that some of the people you follow, you just don't market yourself as well.

I say this to remind you that trying to live someone else's life is a recipe for misery.

You can create a fulfilling life without chasing $10k/month revenue (by yourself).

You can live a fulfilling life without fancy cars or big houses.

Instead of chasing the next online guru, be yourself.

Own your journey and where you're at on it.

Don't fake it til you make.

Own who you are, accept what you must learn, strive for more.

There's a difference in believing you will become more and faking who you are now.

Don't be a faker, be a believer.

It's ok that you're not there yet.

See the person you want to become and start living toward that future.

And when you see people who have it all figured out on here, remember they're only showing you the shiny parts.

  • Don’t fake who you are.

There’s a difference between faking it and believing you can be something else.

I don’t like the term fake it.

It feels manipulative and disingenuous.

On the other side, I believe we should live like the person we want to become.

What actions, habits, and routines does the person you want to become have?

Are you living like that person now?

Then today is a good day to start making some changes.

Don’t pretend to be something your not to fit in.

But have confidence and faith that you will become the person you envision in the future.

Belief is a powerful tool that can carry you far.

Learning to believe in yourself and that you’ll figure it out is incredibly important.

But share your struggles.

Let people see you.

We may aspire to be the people on top of the mountain.

But we relate and connect with people still struggling to climb.

Learning to connect your journey to those you wish to serve can impact your growth more than anything else.

Let them see the struggle.

Don’t complain about the challenges.

Solve them.

People want to see you take action.

Handle the setbacks like someone who’s got it all figured out.

Knowing that you’re not some elite, untouchable individual solving problems is a great way to connect.

Often my greatest posts are the ones that do just this.

I talk about a problem I’m dealing with.

I explain how I’m attempting to solve such problem.

I give feedback on the situation and how the implementation of the solution has gone.

I give my advice on what I’d do if this problem surfaced again.

We all suffer setbacks.

We all have problems.

We all must continue to grow and develop.

Believe that you’ll get where you hope to go, but don’t fake who you are right now.

Nobody wants to work with a fraud.

It’s ok if you don’t have it all figured out.

Neither do I.

3 Good Things

Good Watch:

Finding mentors in life can help change the direction of your life. Even those who we see as experts have connected with others to help them learn and grow. Even Dr. Andrew Huberman leaned into the work of others, including that of Tim Ferris to change his life. Check out this video with Dr. Huberman talking about mentorship and growth.

Good Laugh:

Sometimes we need to be reminded that we’re all just figuring it out. This clip from Parks and Rec is just that. I feel it speaks to the heart of this week’s newsletter. Most people don’t have a clue what they’re doing, they just fake it til they figure it out. Be confident that you can figure it out.

Good Motivation:

I found this video from Joe Rogan about enduring difficulty and growing. If you’re looking for a little motivation this morning give this clip a listen. We all make mistakes, but that does not make us that mistake.

Need a Coach?

As an athlete I always appreciated good coaching.

It often made the difference between a successful season and an average one.

When you’ve got big goal to compete at the highest level, it helps to have someone looking at the big picture, while you focus on the specific actions.

Have you got something big coming up?

Need someone to help organize the path forward?

Let me know what you’re working on and we’ll see if I’m the right fit.

I've spent the last 15 years working with clients as a personal trainer and coach helping them build healthy sustainable habits.

During this time I've learned the psychology of habit creation, the power of systems, and why simple works better.

I'd love to help you reach your goals.

I'm currently looking to add 2 new coaching clients to my roster.

If this sounds interesting to you, connect with me today and let's schedule a call to see if we're a good fit for each other.
